A team from Atrato Group visited the recently completed London Road solar project last week to see first hand how the site looks now it is completed, and to see the solar panels in action. The 48,608 solar panels are designed to tilt on an axis to maximise generation, which can be seen as the sun moves through the day.
The site, located on an old quarry unsuitable for farming, was commissioned earlier this year and provides renewable energy to Britvic plc through a sleeved PPA. Even last Monday, a rainy day, the site still produced 58.3 MWh of renewable energy, equivalent to planting 483 trees.
