Solar construction at London Road makes great headway

Progress is well under way towards powering one of the UK’s largest drinks manufacturers Britvic plc.

The site is situated in an old quarry, and the construction team is currently preparing the ground to install the single axis tracker system which will mount around 48,600 solar panels. Once operational, these panels are expected to generate c.33 GWh of electricity, enough to power 75% of Britvic’s current operations in Great Britain, including its Beckton and Leeds factories.

“We are really pleased with the progression of construction at the London Road site. The project is making great headway towards being fully installed and energised on time. The vast site will assist Britvic in meeting their sustainability targets by harnessing the power of renewable energy.” says Technical Director Gustaf Schuler.
